Opportunities in Japan
Mayor Bubut requested me this morning to facilitate a message board concerning a training program of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and its Japan counterpart, Japan International Training Cooperation Organization (JITCO). The special training is introduced to young Filipino skilled workers for a maximum period of 3 years in Japan. She said that her friend, Juri Koga, had been proposing to her to conduct another orientation right here in Balete. They agreed to hold it on the 29th of June at the Teodoro F. Calizo Civic Center. Ms. Koga is with the Ocean Bridge and Arc Foundation, a TESDA-accredited sending organization which handles the pre-departure training of qualified applicants.
Anybody who possesses the hereunder qualifications may attend the said orientation at the TFC Civic Center, Balete, Aklan on June 29, 2010 around 10:30 in the morning:
1. Male or Female
2. 19-25 years old
3. At least High School Graduate
4. Skilled in welding, electronics, plastic molding, painting or sandblasting among others
5. of good moral character
The program per se operates in this manner:
1. Applicants attend orientation given by any sending organization (in this case, the OBAF)
2. Manifest her/his intention to undertake the 3-year training.
3. Take exams and undergoes medical examination.
4. If she/he qualifies, she/he is sent to a training facility in Laguna to learn Nihonggo for 4 months. The training is free but the applicant has to shoulder his board and lodging throughout the entire 4-month pre-dispatch education.
5. Undertakes language exams. If she/he passes the exams, she/he will be assisted in processing his passport and other documentary requirements.
6. He/she is then sent to Japan to start his 3-year formal training with allowances in any accepting organization such as Hitachi, Canon, Sony, etc. Transportation fare to Japan is free. The allowance is attractive and competitive compared to salaries/wages given here in the Philippines.
